Ages 4 to 63 minute read10 illustrated pages

Kaktus was a green barrel cactus. He had soft spines but wished for a hug.

Priya saw Kaktus looking down. Flicker, the little fox, saw it too.

“I wish I could get a warm hug,” Kaktus whispered. Priya and Flicker looked at his spines.

“Your spines are so pointy,” Priya said. “But we can help you get a hug!”

Priya ran to her living room. She came back with a big fluffy pillow.

They put the pillow by Kaktus. But it was too big and hard for a hug.

Flicker had an idea! He saw a soft blue blanket on the armchair. “A soft blanket!” he barked.

Priya wrapped the soft blanket around Kaktus. His spines were now hidden and safe.

“Now for a hug!” Priya said. She gave Kaktus a big, gentle squeeze.

Kaktus felt so cozy and loved. He got his special hug, all thanks to his friends!
The end.
