Little Moon has only ever seen the night, so one morning she travels across the sky to meet the Sun.
Ages 4 to 64 minute read10 illustrated pages

Little Moon loved the quiet night. She watched the animals sleep and the stars twinkle. But Moon often felt a little lonely. She wondered about the Sun. The Sun was so big and bright and warm. Moon wished she could meet him.

Moon whispered to a sleepy star, “I want to see the Sun.” The star blinked slowly. “But Moon, you stay in the night and Sun stays in the day.”

Moon felt a bit worried. It was true, she always played when the Sun slept. But her heart was full of a special want. “I will try!” she decided, with a brave little smile.

Slowly, Moon began to move. She drifted past the tall mountains and over the quiet sleeping towns. The night grew softer as she went. The air felt a little warmer too.

Then, a tiny bit of orange peeked. It was the first sign of morning! Moon felt excited. She moved a little faster now, following the light that grew bigger and brighter.

The colors in the sky changed all around her. Pink turned to gold, and then to bright yellow. Moon saw fluffy clouds wake up and begin to dance in the light.

Suddenly, a big, warm glow filled the sky. It was so much bigger than she thought! Moon felt a little shy, but mostly very happy. She was almost there!

Then, Moon saw him. Sun was tall and grand, made of pure, happy light. He smiled a big, warm smile. “Hello, little Moon,” Sun said, his voice like a gentle summer breeze.

Moon smiled back. “Hello, Sun!” she said. “I wanted to meet you.” Sun shone even brighter. “I am so glad you came,” he said kindly.

For a little while, Moon and Sun stayed together in the sky. They shared soft warmth and happy light. Moon knew she had found a wonderful, special friend. Her heart felt very full.
The end.
