Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Storybox! These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Sleektech LLC("Company," "we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the Storybox mobile application (the "App") and our website at mystorybox.co (the "Website").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, or by accessing the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App or Website after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

3.1 Age Requirements

Storybox is intended for children ages 3-10 under parental supervision. Account registration requires a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction).

3.2 Account Creation

To use certain features of Storybox, you must create an account. You may register using:

• Apple Sign-In
• Google Sign-In

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account.

4. Description of Service

Storybox is an interactive storytelling application that allows children to create personalized illustrated stories through voice input. Key features include:

• Voice-to-Story: Children speak story ideas which are transcribed and used to generate stories
• Illustrated Content: Each story includes unique illustrations generated for that story
• Story Library: Created stories are saved to your personal library and can be read anytime
• Cloud Backup: Stories are automatically backed up to secure cloud storage to protect against accidental deletion, save device storage, and allow access across devices signed into the same account
• Offline Reading: Stories are automatically kept on your device for reading without an internet connection
• Push Notifications: With your permission, receive a notification when your story is ready
• Story Sharing: A parent can generate a 7-day public link to one of their stories from the app's library. Anyone the parent shares the link with, and link-preview services that fetch the link, can view the shared story until the link expires.
• Live Activity (Lock Screen & Dynamic Island): On supported devices, progress for an in-flight story generation is displayed in the Live Activity system area while the app is backgrounded or closed.
• Mini-games: Short in-app games (Runner, Stack) are available while a story is generating. Mini-game state (e.g. best scores) is stored only on the device and never transmitted.

5. User Accounts and Responsibilities

As a user of Storybox, you agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
• Not attempt to circumvent any content filtering or safety measures
• Not use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or its systems
• Supervise children's use of the App as appropriate
• Report any bugs, errors, or inappropriate content to us promptly

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Storybox only for its intended purpose: creating fun, age-appropriate stories for children. You may not use the App to:

• Generate content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or inappropriate
• Attempt to bypass content filters or safety measures
• Use the service for any commercial purpose without authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the App
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of our servers or networks

8. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

• Using the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempting to create content that sexualizes, exploits, or harms children
• Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
• Impersonating any person or entity
• Collecting or harvesting user data without permission
• Using automated systems to access the App without authorization
• Circumventing measures designed to prevent or restrict access

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate termination of your account and may be reported to appropriate authorities.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Intellectual Property

The App, Website, and all content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to the design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, software, and the arrangement thereof) are owned by Sleektech LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

9.3 Brand Assets

The Storybox name, logo, and all associated brand assets are the property ofSleektech LLC. You may not use our brand assets without our prior written permission.

10. Third-Party Services

Storybox relies on third-party services to operate:

• Supabase: Database and authentication services
• Google Gemini: Primary story and illustration generation (via Cloudflare Workers)
• OpenAI: Backup story and illustration generation (via Cloudflare Workers), used only when the primary service is temporarily unavailable
• Apple/Google Sign-In: Authentication services
• Resend: Email delivery service for parental consent verification
• Apple Speech Recognition: On-device voice input processing only
• Cloudflare: Website hosting, cloud storage for story backups, and API request processing
• RevenueCat: Apple in-app purchase receipt validation and credit fulfillment

These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services, though we select partners that meet our standards for security and privacy.

11. Credit Packs and Payment Terms

Storybox uses a credit system for story creation. Each credit allows the creation of one story. Credits are purchased as one-time credit packs (not subscriptions):

• All payments are processed through Apple's App Store as in-app purchases, and routed through the RevenueCat SDK for receipt validation and credit fulfillment
• Credit packs are one-time purchases; there are no recurring charges or auto-renewals
• You agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes
• Purchased credits do not expire and remain in your account until used
• Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policies

We reserve the right to change pricing for credit packs at any time. Price changes will not affect credits you have already purchased.

11.1 Credit Usage and Refund Policy

A credit is consumed when story creation begins. Once a story generation has started, the credit cannot be reversed. This includes cases where:

• Your device loses internet connectivity during story creation
• You close or background the app during story creation

If story creation fails due to a server-side error or is flagged by our content safety filters, your credit will be automatically refunded to your account.

11.2 Abuse and Misuse

We monitor generation activity to ensure fair use of our services. Deliberately disrupting story creation (e.g., repeatedly starting generations and disconnecting) may be considered misuse. If we detect patterns consistent with abuse, we reserve the right to suspend generation privileges or terminate the account.

If you believe a credit was consumed due to circumstances beyond your control, contact us at support@mystorybox.co. Our team will review the relevant activity logs and issue a refund if warranted.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may stop using Storybox at any time. To delete your account, contact us at support@mystorybox.co or use the account deletion feature in the App's Profile section.

Credit Forfeiture: Upon account deletion, any unused story credits in your account will be permanently forfeited and are non-refundable. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. Please ensure you have used any remaining credits before deleting your account.

12.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

• Violates these Terms or our policies
• Is harmful to other users, third parties, or our business
• Involves fraud or misuse of the service

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease and you will no longer be able to create new stories. All cloud-stored story backups, local story data, and your account data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLEEKTECH LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the greater of:

• The amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or
• One hundred U.S. dollars ($100)

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

14.1 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to third-party service outages (such as our content generation or cloud storage providers), internet service disruptions, natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or other force majeure events.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sleektech LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit or create through the App.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Illinois, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

17. Dispute Resolution

17.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at support@mystorybox.co and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

17.2 Arbitration Agreement

If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Arbitration shall take place via video conference.

17.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis only, and you waive the right to participate in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other agreements expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you andSleektech LLC regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements, communications, and understandings.

20. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and provide reasonable notice, such as a prominent notice in the App and, in some cases, email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
