1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Storybox! These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Sleektech LLC("Company," "we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the Storybox mobile application (the "App") and our website at mystorybox.co (the "Website").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, or by accessing the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App or Website after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

3.1 Age Requirements

Storybox is intended for children ages 3-10 under parental supervision. Account registration requires a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction).

3.2 Account Creation

To use certain features of Storybox, you must create an account. You may register using:

• Apple Sign-In
• Google Sign-In

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account.

4. Description of Service

Storybox is an interactive storytelling application that allows children to create personalized illustrated stories through voice input. Key features include:

• Voice-to-Story: Children speak story ideas which are transcribed and used to generate stories
• Illustrated Content: Each story includes unique illustrations generated for that story
• Story Library: Created stories are saved to your personal library and can be read anytime
• Cloud Backup: Stories are automatically backed up to secure cloud storage to protect against accidental deletion, save device storage, and allow access across devices signed into the same account
• Offline Reading: Stories are automatically kept on your device for reading without an internet connection
• Push Notifications: With your permission, receive a notification when your story is ready
• Story Sharing: A parent can generate a 7-day public link to one of their stories from the app's library. Anyone the parent shares the link with, and link-preview services that fetch the link, can view the shared story until the link expires.
• Live Activity (Lock Screen & Dynamic Island): On supported devices, progress for an in-flight story generation is displayed in the Live Activity system area while the app is backgrounded or closed.
• Mini-games: Short in-app games (Runner, Stack) are available while a story is generating. Mini-game state (e.g. best scores) is stored only on the device and never transmitted.

5. User Accounts and Responsibilities

As a user of Storybox, you agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
• Not attempt to circumvent any content filtering or safety measures
• Not use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or its systems
• Supervise children's use of the App as appropriate
• Report any bugs, errors, or inappropriate content to us promptly

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Storybox only for its intended purpose: creating fun, age-appropriate stories for children. You may not use the App to:

• Generate content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or inappropriate
• Attempt to bypass content filters or safety measures
• Use the service for any commercial purpose without authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the App
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of our servers or networks

8. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

• Using the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempting to create content that sexualizes, exploits, or harms children
• Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
• Impersonating any person or entity
• Collecting or harvesting user data without permission
• Using automated systems to access the App without authorization
• Circumventing measures designed to prevent or restrict access

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate termination of your account and may be reported to appropriate authorities.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Intellectual Property

The App, Website, and all content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to the design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, software, and the arrangement thereof) are owned by Sleektech LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

9.3 Brand Assets

The Storybox name, logo, and all associated brand assets are the property ofSleektech LLC. You may not use our brand assets without our prior written permission.

10. Third-Party Services

Storybox relies on third-party services to operate:

• Supabase: Database and authentication services
• Google Gemini: Primary story and illustration generation (via Cloudflare Workers)
• OpenAI: Backup story and illustration generation (via Cloudflare Workers), used only when the primary service is temporarily unavailable
• Apple/Google Sign-In: Authentication services
• Resend: Email delivery service for sign-in codes and account emails
• Apple Speech Recognition: On-device voice input processing only
• Cloudflare: Website hosting, cloud storage for story backups, and API request processing
• RevenueCat: Apple in-app purchase receipt validation and credit fulfillment

These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services, though we select partners that meet our standards for security and privacy.

10.1 Apple

Storybox is distributed through the Apple App Store. These Terms are between you and Sleektech LLC only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.

We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim you or a third party makes relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, claims arising under consumer protection or similar law, and the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any claim that the App infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.

You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the App. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you.

11. Subscription and Payment Terms

Storybox Unlimited is a subscription that includes unlimited story creation, available in Storybox 2.4 and later. It is sold as a monthly plan ($7.99 per month) in the United States; prices in other regions are set in local currency and shown in the App before you subscribe. The monthly plan starts with a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Annual plans ($49.99 per year) bought before October 12, 2026 continue to renew on their existing terms until canceled.

• All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store as in-app purchases, and routed through the RevenueCat SDK for receipt validation and entitlement fulfillment. Apple, not us, is the seller of record for these transactions, and your purchase is also governed by Apple's terms
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period, and keep renewing until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge
• If your plan includes a free trial, your Apple ID is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then
• You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in the Settings app on your Apple device. Canceling stops the next renewal and leaves your access in place until the end of the period you have already paid for
• Canceling part-way through a billing period does not produce a partial or pro-rated refund, and unused time is not credited
• Free-trial eligibility is determined by Apple and is generally limited to one trial per Apple ID within a subscription group. We cannot grant or restore a trial Apple has determined you are not eligible for
• You agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes
• Refunds for App Store purchases are requested from and decided by Apple under Apple's refund policies. We do not process them

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. A price change takes effect at your next renewal, and Apple notifies you in advance and obtains your consent where required.

11.1 Fair Use of Unlimited Plans

"Unlimited" means we do not cap the number of stories an ordinary family creates. It does not mean unrestricted machine access. Every story consumes real computing resources, so we may apply reasonable rate limits, queue requests at busy times, and require that story creation happen through the App's normal interface.

We may throttle, suspend, or terminate an account, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe it is being used to:

• Create stories by automated means, scripts, or any interface other than the App
• Resell or redistribute story creation, or provide it to others as a service
• Share one subscription across separate households or an unreasonable number of people
• Create volume far outside the pattern of ordinary family use

If we restrict an account under this section and you have paid for a period you can no longer use, contact us and we will review the account. Refunds for App Store purchases remain Apple's decision.

11.2 Responsibility for Charges

The account holder is the parent or guardian who registered the account, and is responsible for all charges made through that account and the associated Apple ID, including charges made by a child with access to the device. The App places purchases behind a parental PIN. You are responsible for setting that PIN, keeping it confidential, and for using the device-level controls Apple provides, including Screen Time, Ask to Buy, and your Apple ID password settings.

If a payment is reversed, charged back, or refunded after access has been granted, we may suspend or terminate access to paid features.

11.3 Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features, and may suspend or discontinue the App or any part of it. If we make a change that materially reduces what an active subscription provides, you may cancel through the App Store; that cancellation, and any refund, is handled by Apple.

11.4 Story Credits

Storybox sold one-time credit packs in earlier versions, where one credit created one story. Credit packs are being retired and are not sold in Storybox 2.4. Credits already in your account do not expire and remain available to use. An active subscription does not consume credits.

A credit is consumed when story creation begins. Once a story generation has started, the credit cannot be reversed. This includes cases where:

• Your device loses internet connectivity during story creation
• You close or background the app during story creation

If story creation fails due to a server-side error or is flagged by our content safety filters, your credit will be automatically refunded to your account.

11.5 Abuse and Misuse

We monitor generation activity to ensure fair use of our services. Deliberately disrupting story creation (e.g., repeatedly starting generations and disconnecting) may be considered misuse. If we detect patterns consistent with abuse, we reserve the right to suspend generation privileges or terminate the account.

If you believe a credit was consumed due to circumstances beyond your control, contact us at support@mystorybox.co. Our team will review the relevant activity logs and issue a refund if warranted.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may stop using Storybox at any time. To delete your account, contact us at support@mystorybox.co or use the account deletion feature in the App's Profile section.

Credit Forfeiture: Upon account deletion, any unused story credits in your account will be permanently forfeited and are non-refundable. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. Please ensure you have used any remaining credits before deleting your account.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. A subscription is held by your Apple ID, not by your Storybox account, so it keeps renewing and billing until you cancel it in the Settings app on your Apple device. Cancel there first, then delete the account.

12.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

• Violates these Terms or our policies
• Is harmful to other users, third parties, or our business
• Involves fraud or misuse of the service

We also delete accounts that have never had a subscription or purchase and have not been used for 12 months, after email notice where we have a working address, as described in the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease and you will no longer be able to create new stories. All cloud-stored story backups, local story data, and your account data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLEEKTECH LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the greater of:

• The amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or
• One hundred U.S. dollars ($100)

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

14.1 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to third-party service outages (such as our content generation or cloud storage providers), internet service disruptions, natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or other force majeure events.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sleektech LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit or create through the App.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Illinois, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

17. Dispute Resolution

17.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at support@mystorybox.co and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

17.2 Arbitration Agreement

If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Arbitration shall take place via video conference.

17.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis only, and you waive the right to participate in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other agreements expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you andSleektech LLC regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements, communications, and understandings.

20. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and provide reasonable notice, such as a prominent notice in the App and, in some cases, email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
