Welcome to the Storybox Blog

A new home for Storybox updates, parent-friendly story ideas, positive screen time notes, and reading aloud with kids.

A cheerful Storybox card character surrounded by bright illustrated storybook scenes and art supplies

We started Storybox to make a quiet kind of magic — a child speaks a few words, and a story takes shape. The app has lived in App Store updates and family living rooms for a while now. This blog is a slower place: a notebook for what we're building, what we're learning, and the small things we change between releases.

What you'll find here

Posts will mostly fall into three buckets:

  • Product updates — what shipped, what's next, and the tradeoffs we made along the way. Plain language. No marketing voice.
  • Reading-aloud notes — small things we've picked up about how kids react to a story, what makes one land, and what falls flat. We don't think we have all the answers; we just have a lot of stories to look at.
  • Behind the scenes — occasional posts about the craft. How we tune voice prompts, why illustrations turn out the way they do, what we think about when a story doesn't feel right.

Why a blog at all

Storybox is a small team and we like writing things down. The App Store is a poor place for nuance, and an in-app changelog only gets read by people who already love the app. A blog lets us talk to the parents and grandparents and aunts who are wondering whether to try it, and to the families who already do and want to know what we're up to.

If you have something you want us to write about — a question about how a feature works, a moment from your kid's listening, anything — you can reply to any of our emails or write to hello@mystorybox.co. We read everything.

Talk soon.
